Rejuvenation Basics

How long does a roof rejuvenation treatment take?

Short answer

Most residential roofs are treated in a single visit lasting a few hours, including setup, any cleaning the roof needs, application and cleanup. There's no tear-off, no dumpster and no multi-day disruption — you can usually stay home and go about your day.

What the day looks like

  • Setup and protection of landscaping, walkways and gutters
  • Debris removal and cleaning where moss or algae is present
  • Even spray application across every slope
  • Walkthrough, cleanup and written record of the work

Weather matters in Maine

Application needs dry shingles and a dry window afterward, which means the Maine season runs roughly spring through fall. We'd rather reschedule than apply into a forecast that won't hold, so expect us to be conservative about weather.

Compared with replacement

A tear-off and replacement on the same house is typically one to three days of crew, noise, nails in the driveway and a dumpster on the lawn. That difference in disruption is one of the reasons homeowners look at rejuvenation in the first place.

Six quick questions about your roof, and an honest read on whether rejuvenation is likely to be a fit for it.

2-minute self-check

Answer six questions from the ground.

This won't replace an on-roof inspection, but your answers shape the recommendation you'll get at the end — including when rejuvenation isn't the right call. "Not sure" is a fine answer.

  1. 1.Is your roof roughly 8–25 years old?

  2. 2.Do you have any active leaks or interior water stains?

  3. 3.Are there shingles missing, cracked through, or hard-curled in sections?

  4. 4.Do you see granules collecting in gutters, or fading and dry-looking shingles?

  5. 5.Do any roof planes sag, or does the decking feel soft?

  6. 6.Does the roof have more than one layer of shingles?
